11 Eco-Friendly Businesses to Support This Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is coming up and I wanted to share some of my favorite eco-conscious small businesses! As a former small business owner, I have an extra soft spot for supporting small businesses. It sounds cheesy but that saying, “when you support a small business you support a dream” is so true! I’ve seen so many small businesses post about price increases and possible delays so now more than ever let’s support them! Even if you get just one thing from a small biz you will literally make someone’s day. So let’s get into some of my favorite eco-conscious small businesses to support this season!

Simply Straws: Use the code COURTNEY10 for 10% off

Okay, I have to start with Simply Straws because I simply love them. They’re women-owned, certified B Corp, 1% for the planet member, and have such an incredible commitment to the environment. Their reusable and recyclable products are hand crafted with intention in California, the colored glass is non-toxic and BPA free, sleeves are made from fair-trade, organic hemp, flax, and cotton, printing is done with non-toxic dyes and FSC certified 100% post-consumer recycled paper and all packaging is compostable. Their commitment to the environment is definitely admirable. I’ve had one of their wide straws for YEARS now and it’s still going strong. They mean it when they say durable. Their products make the perfect stocking stuffers or addition to a gift!

I love these plantable seed cards carried on The Waste Less Store!

The Waste less Store:

I love the selection of low waste, clean products carried by The Waste Less Shop! They primarily source their products from small, female owned business so when you shop from The Waste Less Shop you’re also supporting other small businesses as well. They have also captured over 1.2 million pounds of CO2 from our atmosphere through their partnership with OneTreePlanted which is amazing. If you’re in the Manhattan Beach area, check out their store, otherwise, you can shop online! Check out My Faves page for items I’ve tried from them and love. Let me know which products you try or give as gifts!

HowCork is a shop I recently found and I'm in love with it! I visited Portugal a few years ago and was in awe at all the beautiful things they had made out of cork. Urban Oreganics:

When Urban Oreganics Co-Founder, Emily, was pregnant she learned that it takes 26 seconds for the toxins in our skin care products to absorb into the bloodstream. Since then she vowed to make a change for herself and her kids and set out to learn how to make her own natural personal care products. She started on Etsy and ever since then Urban Oreganics has been in biz! A few years later her husband joined in full time and this power couple has their own line of organic, vegan, and cruelty free skin care products that are handcrafted in small batches and packaged in eco-friendly packaging. They also carry other conscious brands that are amazing and make great gifts as well!

Green Room Body Co.: Use the code COURTNEY15 for 15% off your order

About 552 MILLION bottles of shampoo end up in the landfill every year in the US alone. Shampoo and conditioner bars are a great way to reduce plastic waste and the bars from Green Room Body Co. work amazing for my very thick and wavy hair. (I use their Floral Bars but they have other options for different hair types as well.) Their body soap also smells amazing and left my skin feeling so soft and nourished. I love their clean ingredients, zero-waste packaging, and overall commitment to the environment. They just launched some holiday soaps that make a great gift or if you need to restock your bar soap, now is the time!

My favorite scent is their Hibernate fragrance! I love the prominent and relaxing lavender smell.

Perfect Blue Alchemy: Use the code COURTNEYxPBA for $5 off your first order

Oh how I love Perfect Blue Alchemy. Some of my personal faves are their Hibernate Body Oil, Essential Oil Set, and Laundry Essence + wool dryer balls! They have so many other amazing products that make great self-care themed gifts. Plus, the women behind the biz, Kenya and Kim, are so incredibly sweet and genuine!
